Montessori School at HNM

Holy Name of Mary Montessori School’s goal is to strengthen the existing union with and love of God through the teaching of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd which implements the Montessori philosophy and methodology. Respect for a child's mind, individuality, and particular needs, is the driving concern in teaching our children. School is in session September-June, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM - 2:30 PM.

Religious Education

This program is for children between the ages of 3 1/2 and 14. It begins with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for children aged 3 1/2 to 5. Our Sacramental Program is for first, second, and third graders. We celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation in second grade and First Eucharist in third grade. Grades 4-8 concentrate on the sacraments, church history, and Old Testament. The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in the fall of the 9th grade year. A parenting program is an integral component of grades 1-3. We meet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoon and evenings.

Parent Program

The church is a family, and families are churches. This clear teaching of our faith is the foundation of the parenting program. We believe that helping families to live as a domestic church will provide a strong ground for faith life in the 21st century. The Parenting Program is held on Sunday mornings, 9:00-10:30 in the Church Hall for different grade levels.
